In the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deep learning, demands for high-performance, energy-efficient server infrastructure have never been greater. Inventec K885G7 is a 2U dual-socket server powered by the 5th Generation AMD EPYC™ 9005 Series processors. Supporting up to 192 cores per socket and 500W TDP under optimized air cooling, K885G7 delivers exceptional compute density for AI inference, HPC, cloud-native, and enterprise workloads. A powerful, highly configurable platform designed to provide the optimal solution for every customer.
A Powerful, Scalable, and Flexible 2U Server
Inventec K885G7 supports the AMD EPYC™ 9005 (Turin) SP5 platform with up to 192 cores and DDR5-6400 MT/s memory across 24 DIMM slots. With 160 total PCIe Gen5 lanes and seven configurable SKUs, K885G7 adapts seamlessly to general computing, NVMe-rich storage, high-performance computing, and GPU inference workloads. Front-accessible up to 16x U.2 NVMe SSDs, plus M.2 HW RAID options, give customers flexible storage configurations for any environment.
Latest Cooling Design — Air-Cooled 500W TDP Support K885G7 achieves a key industry milestone: supporting the AMD EPYC™ Turin 9005 processors at up to 500W TDP using optimized air cooling — no liquid cooling infrastructure required. Six high-performance 6056 dual-rotor fan modules, combined with Inventec precision airflow management across the 2U chassis, deliver the full thermal headroom to operate the AMD EPYC™ 9965 (192-core, 500W, Zen 5c) at sustained full capacity. This enables customers to deploy the highest-performance Turin processors within standard air-cooled data center infrastructure, maximizing computational density while minimizing infrastructure investment and operational complexity.
Great Serviceability with the Modular Design Inventec K885G7 is designed for minimal downtime and low OPEX. The tool-less modular architecture allows fast component replacement in the field. K885G7 equips 1+1 redundant hot-swap power supplies (CRPS 2000W or 2700W) and six hot-swap-capable fan modules, ensuring continuous operation even during maintenance. Drive and OCP network modules also support hot swapping, keeping the system online during storage expansion or NIC upgrades.
Management, Monitoring & Security
K885G7 integrates the Aspeed AST2600 BMC for comprehensive out-of-band system management via IPMI 2.0 and Redfish (AMI MegaRAC OT2.1). System administrators can remotely control power, monitor temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds, execute virtual KVM sessions, and perform firmware updates — all through a secure HTML5 web interface.
Platform Root of Trust (PRoT) — Aspeed AST1060
K885G7 integrates the Aspeed AST1060 as a dedicated hardware Platform Root of Trust (HRoT), compliant with NIST SP 800-193 Platform Firmware Resilience (PFR). The AST1060 is implemented in
M.2 form factor, enabling a removable, field-replaceable security module that can be independently serviced without replacing the motherboard.
The AST1060 provides three-pillar firmware security:
• Protection: Real-time SPI and I2C/SMBus hardware filtering blocks unauthorized firmware writes
• Detection: ARM Cortex-M4F @ 200 MHz with hardware crypto engine (AES / TDES / HASH / RSA / ECDSA, NIST CAVP-certified) verifies firmware integrity before every boot
• Recovery: Immutable Boot ROM and automatic fail-safe rollback restore the system to a known-good state if corruption or tampering is detected Combined with AMD Infinity Guard (SEV-SNP, SEV-ES, TSME, Trusted I/O), K885G7 delivers a comprehensive multi-layer security framework for enterprise and data center environments.
